With over 25 years expierience, the staff of North Knox Veterinary Clinic strives to treat every patient as a member of our own family and to provide them with the most compasionate, comprehensive medical treatment available.

Dr. Tanya Hamilton

Dr. Tanya Hamilton graduated from the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. She worked for several years after graduation in Nashville and North Carolina.

Dr. Hamilton spent a few weeks in Haiti with Christian Veterinary Mission before opening North Knox Veterinary Clinic in January 1987.

Dr. Hamilton lives with her three children adopted from Honduras and Guatemala, Joyandra, Seth and Eli. The rest of the family consists of 2 dogs - Gertie and Blanket, 3 cats – Biscuit, Stretch and Princess, 3 guinea pigs and 2 hermit crabs.

KAREN MILLS – Receptionist/Assistant
Karen Mills has been with North Knox Veterinary Clinic since October of 1989. Karen does her best to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Karen lives with her husband, Tom and son, Eric in north Knoxville in her childhood home. Living with the humans are 2 dogs – Lillee and Piper, and 4 cats – Brewster, Blossom, Joey and Spider Monkey. Karen holds the distinction of being listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as owner of the world’s oldest living rabbit, Sniffles. Unfortunately, Sniffles passed away July of 2005 at the age of
14 ½.


JULIA GIBBS – Assistant/Receptionist
Julia Gibbs is now on her second tour of duty at North Knox Veterinary having taken some time away several years ago to move to Crossville and have two children. While in Crossville, Julia worked for Dr. W. P. Thornton, DVM.

Julia lives in west Knoxville with her husband, Jim and two sons, Ian and Dylan. She has a special interest in Boston Terriers and has rescued three of them from a local rescue group. She has two Bostons at this time, Marcie and Rudy. Other pets include a Golden Retriever named Thomas, a cat named Tux, a Bearded Dragon (lizard) named Foster, a couple of gerbils and a turtle.


Sheila Watson - Assistant
Sheila Watson has been a assistant at North Knox Veterinary Clinic since August of 2002. Sheila lives in the Corryton area with her husband, Tim. They are the proud owners of a long-haired dachshund named Chestnut; four cats - Celeste, Anna Belle, Gandalf and Phoebe; a lizard named Drake and 3 snakes.

On her off-time, Sheila enjoys photography and reading.


Robin Burris - Assistant/Groomer/Receptionist
Robin Burris is a jack-of-all-trades as assistant, groomer and receptionist. Robin began work at North Knox Veterinary Clinic in 1996. Her special interests are radiology and lab work.

Robin lives in Clinton with her husband Jessie and daughter Zabrina. Her outside interests are horseback endurance racing and rowing.

Critters living at Robin's home include 3 Arabian horses - Lisa, Magic and Jet; 3 cats - Elf, Cecil and Ozzy; 3 bunnies that were adopted from the Young-Williams Animal Center - Skittles, Shasta and Coco Puff; 2 dogs - Dayzee and Weener Dog; and 1 Guinea Pig rescued from Knoxville Guinea Pig Rescue named Giavanni AKA G-pig.


Marian Harding - Groomer
Marian Harding has been grooming for North Knox Veterinary Clinic since February 1990, coming from California. She owned her own grooming business in California for many years.

Marian is an all-breed groomer, but specializes in terrier breeds as she raises and shows Miniature Schnauzers. Marian has 12 champions to her list of accomplishments.

Marian currently lives in Halls with her husband, Harvey Crider. Harvey enjoys showing dogs with her. They also have adopted a great cat named Duffy and a champion Vizsla named Keri.
